Palmer Commits to Chelsea Amid Manchester United Speculation

Cole Palmer has dismissed rumors of a potential move to Manchester United, stating he has "no plans to move from Chelsea." The 23-year-old, who has faced inconsistent form and fitness this season, has made 21 Premier League appearances and four Champions League outings, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in the league.

Recent weeks at Chelsea have been turbulent, with Enzo Fernandez receiving a two-game ban for comments about a possible transfer to Real Madrid, while Marc Cucurella escaped punishment for similar remarks about Barcelona. The team’s struggles—five defeats in their last six matches—have increased pressure on manager Liam Rosenior. However, the club has taken steps to stabilize its squad, extending the contracts of key players Reece James and Moises Caicedo.

Ahead of Chelsea’s pivotal match against Manchester United on Saturday, Palmer addressed the speculation about his future. "Everyone just talks," he told *The Guardian*. "When I see it, I just laugh. Manchester is my home, and all my family are there, but I don’t miss it. Maybe I’ll miss it if I don’t go for three months, but when I get home, there’s nothing there for me anyway."

Palmer emphasized his commitment to Chelsea, highlighting the team’s remaining objectives. "We’ve still got a lot to play for—the FA Cup semi-final [against Leeds] and a Champions League spot, which would help us sign the players we need. The owners are confident in the squad, and Reece [James] wouldn’t have signed a six-year contract if he didn’t believe in the project. We’ve discussed what’s need to improve, and he wouldn’t have committed otherwise."

Chelsea have lost only one of their last 12 Premier League home games against Manchester United (W6 D5) and are aiming for a third consecutive home victory over them for the first time since April 2006.
