Luis Enrique Confident PSG Are Prepared for Season's Decisive Phase

📅 2026-04-25

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique declared his team ready for the pivotal stage of the 2025-26 season after their 3-0 victory over Angers. A rotated squad secured the win with goals from Lee Kang-in, Senny Mayulu, and Lucas Beraldo, extending their Ligue 1 lead over Lens to six points.

Enrique made seven changes to the starting lineup from Wednesday’s match against Nantes, matching his highest number of alterations this season—previously seen against Angers in August and Lorient in November. The game marked the third time this campaign that PSG played without Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, or Désiré Doué, all of whom were unused substitutes, following similar absences in October against Barcelona and Lille.

With four matches remaining and a six-point advantage—coupled with a superior goal difference—PSG now hold a 99.4% chance of winning Ligue 1, according to Opta’s supercomputer.

Enrique praised his team’s performance ahead of their Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich on Tuesday. "I think the result is fair," he told Ligue 1+. "It was a difficult match with challenging conditions—the sun, the wind—but we stayed focused and controlled the game. I’m very pleased with this performance."

He added, "We’re in a very good moment. Regardless of the team or players, we’re performing well and maintaining our style. It’s nearly perfect timing as we approach the final phase of the league and the Champions League semi-finals. We’re ready, and we want to enjoy this moment. All of us at Paris are prepared."

"We’re excited to face one of Europe’s best teams in the semi-finals. But we are the champions, and we’re eager to start this match."
