Jeglertz Urges Man City to Focus on Details Amid Title Race Setback

📅 2026-04-25

Andree Jeglertz remains unfazed by Manchester City's recent stumble but emphasized the need to concentrate on fine margins. Manchester City's Women's Super League title hopes suffered a blow on Saturday with a 3-2 defeat to Brighton.

City missed a golden opportunity to extend their lead over second-place Chelsea to 12 points, despite Kerolin giving them an early advantage. Madison Haley and Kiko Seike turned the game around with goals either side of halftime. Haley added a third for Brighton, and though Khadija Shaw netted late, City couldn't recover.

Arsenal now have three games in hand on City, while Chelsea remain in contention. However, Jeglertz expressed confidence in his team's ability to bounce back. "I'm not worried. You learn a lot in these games, and I am fully sure that when we are back in training, we will be focused for Liverpool next week," he told Sky Sports.

"It is still in our hands. We will do everything we can to finish off with two wins. It's about details. It was a tough game, but it is about scoring goals. We created a lot of chances in the first half and we needed to score. Brighton challenged us a lot—we need to protect our penalty box a little better."

Jeglertz added, "It's important we learn from this game. We dropped a couple of percentages in some moments, and we were punished." Manchester City require five points to secure the title, which would mark their first WSL triumph since 2016.
