Inter Clinch 21st Serie A Title with 2-0 Win Over Parma

📅 2026-05-04

Inter secured their 21st Serie A title with three matches remaining after a 2-0 victory over Parma at San Siro. The Nerazzurri, who only needed a point following Napoli's draw with Como on Saturday, sealed the Scudetto with goals from Marcus Thuram and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Inter came close to opening the scoring early, with Denzel Dumfries heading just wide in the 10th minute and Nicolo Barella striking the crossbar in the 25th. The breakthrough came in first-half stoppage time when Piotr Zielinski set up Thuram, who slotted the ball past Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.

Dumfries missed a chance to double the lead in the 71st minute, firing over from Federico Dimarco's cross. However, Inter sealed the title 10 minutes from time as substitute Lautaro Martinez raced down the right and squared for Mkhitaryan to finish.

Parma's Nesta Elphege had a goal ruled out late on, while Davide Frattesi was denied from close range before the home celebrations began.

**Data Recap: Inter's Dominance Continues**

Inter's 21st Scudetto marks the sixth time they have won the title with at least three games to spare. The Nerazzurri are unbeaten in their last nine Serie A meetings with Parma (W6 D3) and have lost just two of their last 29 league matches at San Siro.

Thuram, who opened the scoring, has been in exceptional form, contributing to eight goals (six goals, two assists) since April—more than any other player in Europe's top five leagues during that period. With 13 league goals this season, the French forward joins Robert Lewandowski, Ante Budimir, Erling Haaland, and Harry Kane as the only players in Europe's top leagues to score at least 13 goals for the same club in each of the last three campaigns.
