Inter Aim to Secure Scudetto Against Parma, Says Chivu

Cristian Chivu emphasized Inter’s determination to "kill off" the Scudetto race "as soon as possible" as they prepare to face Parma. A victory at San Siro on Sunday would secure Inter’s 21st Serie A title.

Napoli, who drew 0-0 with Como on Saturday, remain nine points behind Inter, keeping their faint title hopes alive. Chivu’s side dropped points last weekend after surrendering a 2-0 lead against Torino, and the head coach urged his team to respond.

"When you’re leading 2-0, you think everything is under control," Chivu said. "Then a mistake leads to a goal, and doubts creep in. The match could have ended even worse. I take responsibility, but we need three points now. We want to wrap this up as soon as possible."

Ironically, Inter could clinch the title against Chivu’s former club, Parma, whom he guided to safety last season. However, the Inter boss dismissed any sentimental ties.

"Zero. I’m focused only on my job," he said. "This dream started nine months ago. My duty is to prepare the team with the right motivation, ambition, and attitude—nothing else matters."
