Flick: Barcelona Have Done Their Part in LaLiga Title Race

📅 2026-05-03

Hansi Flick stated that he is unconcerned about how Barcelona secure the LaLiga title, emphasizing that his team has "done our job."

Barcelona secured a 2-1 away victory over Osasuna on Saturday, with quick goals from Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres proving decisive. The win extends their LaLiga winning streak to 10 consecutive matches, a feat not achieved in a single season since March 2016, when Luis Enrique’s side won 12 in a row.

The result means Barcelona on the verge of clinching the title. They could be crowned champions on Sunday if Real Madrid fail to defeat Espanyol. Even if Madrid win, they would need to beat Barcelona in next weekend’s Clasico to keep their title hopes alive.

A potential third LaLiga triumph in four years is within reach, and Flick remains focused on the outcome rather than the manner of achievement.

"We’ve done our job by winning here, and now it’s out of our hands," Flick said after the match. "We have to wait for Espanyol’s match, so it doesn’t depend on us. The important thing is to win a title, and we’ll celebrate when we can win it."

Reflecting on the game, Flick acknowledged the challenge posed by Osasuna. "We wanted to win here. It was a tough match for us. I think we could have done better in the first half, but luckily we were able to score two goals later on," he said.

"We were in control in the first half. We tried to change things up. [Frenkie] De Jong came on for Gavi, who was on a yellow card. We took a few more risks, played faster and with more speed, bringing on [Marcus] Rashford and Ferran."

Flick expressed satisfaction with the result, adding, "I’m happy for the team, for the fans. We’re happy to have gotten another three points."
