Benfica Unable to Block Jose Mourinho’s Potential Move to Real Madrid

Benfica will be powerless to prevent Jose Mourinho from accepting the managerial position at Real Madrid if the Portuguese coach chooses to do so, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

The renowned Italian journalist revealed that Real Madrid are keen to reappoint Mourinho as their manager at the end of the current season. On his YouTube channel, Romano stated, “Mourinho knows that Benfica want him to stay. Benfica are essentially waiting for Real Madrid to decide whether they will pursue Mourinho. The club understands it will be nearly impossible to retain him if Madrid make their move. However, Real Madrid opt against hiring Mourinho, Benfica would be more than willing to continue with him. That’s the current situation.”

Real Madrid currently sit second in La Liga with 74 points from 33 matches, trailing league leaders and defending champions Barcelona by 11 points.
